BLT Strengthens Fleet with Acquisition of 17,000 DWT Oil-Chemical Tanker

PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk (BLT) is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of a second-hand General Purpose (GP) oil-chemical tanker with a deadweight capacity of approximately 17,000 DWT. The acquisition forms part of the Company’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its fleet portfolio and enhance its participation in Indonesia’s domestic tanker market.

Following the completion of the acquisition, the vessel has been renamed Gandawati 2, further expanding BLT’s tanker fleet and supporting the Company’s long-term growth objectives.

The vessel is fitted with epoxy-coated cargo tanks and screw-type cargo pumps, enabling the transportation of a diverse range of petroleum and chemical products. Her operational flexibility allows her to carry petroleum cargoes such as base oil, gas oil (diesel), and gasoline, as well as various chemical products, including aromatic chemicals.

The addition of Gandawati 2 is expected to enhance BLT’s service capabilities and strengthen its position in the domestic shipping sector, particularly in serving the transportation requirements of Indonesia’s energy and chemical industries under the national cabotage regime. The Company actively exploring opportunities with leading participants in Indonesia’s energy sector.

The vessel will be managed by Gold Bridge Shipping Limited and classed by Bureau Veritas, ensuring compliance with international safety, operational, and technical standards.
