Technical Superintendent

Job Description

  • Monitoring : assigned vessel technical operation and maintenance, ship certificates and maintain it validity and update with latest requirement, performance and maintain through daily/monthly return reports/ vessel inspections report and maintain optimum maintenance levels of ship records and library, technical performance of vessels and monitoring consumption of spares/lub oils and bunkers to ensure these are not caused by poor condition of vessel
  • Preparing : specifications for repairs for vendors and organizing supplies of repair equipment and spares, monthly report on vessel’s budgeted and actual expenditure and submit/report to Technical Manager on time
  • Monitoring and establishing reasons for excessive/unusual wear and tear and developing means to control/rectify same through consultation with Technical Manager
  • Liase with Marine safety Superintendent, Master or Chief engineer on the vessel’s maintenance program and on operational matters
  • Inspecting vessel’s under his charge at least twice a year
  • Providing detailed operating budgets for maintenance and dry-docking
  • Maintaining and monitor on ship budget, cooperation with Procurement department
  • Assisting Procurement team as Procurement Advisor in related to control stores and spares ordered by vessels
  • Reducing costs by motivating the ship’s staff, improving cost awareness by regularly advising them on cost of stores and spares ordered
  • Keeping up to date on requirements/changes in statutory/class rules/development and other regulations

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Academy/Marine Engineering or any related major.
  • Preferably skills(s): international convention regulation knowledge, ship management knowledge, ISM code, ISPS code, basic safety, tankers familiarization.
  • Computer literate.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Good Leaderships and able to make decision if needed.
  • Able to work under tight schedule.
  • Good communication.
  • Willing to travel aboard.
